Altair BI needs to hire a person with strong Power BI and data skills for database design, ETL, data cleansing, and data quality. Many of our clients use Power BI, so knowing that is also important.

The duties of this position include:

• Analyzing the use of data and interpreting data directly against goals and procedures of a company in a way that provides unambiguous results.
• Guaranteeing the accuracy and accessibility of all valuable data.
• Functioning as an interpreter or an intermediary, identifying data needs of a particular group and explaining the importance and use of the data applicable to them.
• Developing, maintaining, and communicating data architecture plans to all stakeholders for alignment of people, business process, information, and technology
• Overseeing the design, assessment, selection, application, and maintenance of major databases and metadata structures.
• Providing technical recommendations to senior managers and technical staff in the development and implementation of data-related standards.
• Determining the logical design characteristics and information management strategies necessary to store, move, and manage data.
• Gathering, documenting, and designing data integration and data visualization requirements for projects ranging from small to enterprise size.
• Use Power BI products to rapidly generate impactful, interactive visualizations.
• Regularly demonstrate and implement the numerous capabilities of Power BI, such as multi-source dashboards, data blending, table calculations, advanced calculated fields, advanced statistical analysis, guided analytics, custom geocoding, etc.
• Generate Power BI dashboards that take into account performance implications of dashboard design decisions on underlying data sources.
• Extract, transform, and load data from an extremely wide field of data sources into staging datasets and ultimately into Power BI dashboards.
• Espousing and keeping current with data visualization best practices.
• Providing implementation and training services for resulting data integration and visualization projects to a variety of clients in numerous industries.
• Maintaining expertise in skills related to dashboard production, such as demographics, geolocation/geocoding, data enhancement, ETL, etc.

Career Requirements:

• A minimum of 5 years experience in a service delivery role.
• A minimum of 5 years knowledge of designing different processes and solutions for various clients.
• A minimum of 2 years experience with Power BI products.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment managing multiple deadlines and rapidly changing priorities.
• Strong executive presence and ability to interact with top executives while retaining an ability to interact with all levels within the organization.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with strong negotiation and influencing abilities.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
• Superior verbal and written communication skills.

Technical Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of capabilities, functionality, and behaviours of BI reporting tools such as Power BI Software.
• A history of designing data models that facilitate analytical and operational reporting.
• Substantial experience in SQL and SQL scripting.
• Excellent enterprise and application level data profiling, architecture, modeling, and analysis.
• Proven record of discovering patterns in data.
• Expert knowledge of ETL principles and a proven history of executing ETL plans.
• Familiarity with database administration concepts and concerns.
